Cookie Policy

This website uses both first-party and third-party cookies to provide you with a better browsing experience, enable you to share content on social media, and allow us to collect user statistics.
You can prevent cookies from being downloaded by adjusting your browser settings so that cookies are not stored on your device.
As the owner of this website, I would like to inform you that we do not use any personal information obtained through cookies. We only compile general visitor statistics that do not contain any personally identifiable information.
It is very important that you read and understand this Cookie Policy. If you continue browsing this website, we will consider that you accept the use of cookies.
In accordance with the terms set out in Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, by continuing to browse this website, you consent to the use of the aforementioned mechanisms.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are a set of data that a server places in a user’s browser to collect standard Internet log information and information about visitors’ behaviour on a website.
In other words, they are small text files stored on the computer’s hard drive that help identify users when they return to the website. Their purpose is to record the user’s visit and store certain information.
Cookies are commonly and widely used across the web, as they enable websites to operate more efficiently while providing greater personalisation and allowing for the analysis of user behaviour.

What Types of Cookies Are There?

The cookies used on our website include both session cookies and third-party cookies. They allow us to store and access information relating to language preferences, the type of browser used, and other general settings predefined by the user. They also enable us to track and analyse user activity in order to make improvements and provide our services in a more efficient and personalised manner.
Depending on how long they remain active, cookies can be classified as either session cookies or persistent cookies. Session cookies expire when the user closes their browser, while persistent cookies expire once the purpose for which they were created has been fulfilled—for example, to keep the user logged in to OLACDE services—or when they are manually deleted.

Additionally, depending on their purpose, cookies can be classified as follows:

Performance Cookies

This type of cookie remembers your preferences for the tools and features available within the services, so you do not have to reconfigure the service each time you visit. For example, this category includes: volume settings for video or audio players, video streaming speeds that are compatible with your browser, and items saved in the “shopping cart” in e-commerce services such as online stores.

Geolocation Cookies

These cookies are used to determine which country you are in when you request a service. This cookie is completely anonymous and is only used to help tailor content to your location.

Registration Cookies

Registration cookies are generated once the user has registered or subsequently logged in. They are used to identify the user within the services for the following purposes:

Keep the user logged in so that if they close a service, the browser, or the computer and return to the service at a later time or on another day, they will remain logged in, making navigation easier without having to identify themselves again. This functionality can be disabled if the user selects the “Log out” option. In this case, the cookie will be deleted, and the next time the user accesses the service, they will need to log in again to be identified.

Verify whether the user is authorised to access certain services, for example, to participate in a competition.

Additionally, some services may use social media connectors such as Facebook or Twitter. When a user registers for a service using credentials from a social network, they authorise the social network to store a persistent cookie that remembers their identity and grants them access to the services until it expires. The user can delete this cookie and revoke access to the services through social networks by updating their preferences on the relevant social network.

Analytics Cookies

Each time a user visits a service, a tool provided by an external provider generates an analytics cookie on the user’s device. This cookie, which is only generated during the visit, will be used on future visits to OLACDE services to anonymously identify the visitor. Its main purposes are to:
Enable the anonymous identification of users browsing through the cookie (identifying browsers and devices, not individuals), allowing an approximate count of the number of visitors and their activity trends over time.
Anonymously identify the most frequently visited content and, therefore, the content that is most appealing to users.
Determine whether the user accessing the service is a new or returning visitor.

Important: Unless the user chooses to register for an OLACDE service, the cookie will never be associated with any personal data that could identify them. These cookies will only be used for statistical purposes to help optimise the user experience on the website.

Advertising Cookies

These cookies make it possible to provide more detailed information about the advertisements shown to each anonymous user across OLACDE services. Among other information, they store the duration or frequency with which advertising placements are displayed, users’ interactions with them, and browsing patterns and/or user behaviour, helping to create an advertising interest profile. In this way, they allow advertising to be tailored to the user’s interests.

Third-Party Advertising Cookies

In addition to the advertising managed by OLACDE websites within their services, OLACDE websites offer advertisers the option of serving advertisements through third parties (“Ad Servers”). These third parties may store cookies sent from OLACDE services through users’ browsers, as well as access the data stored within them.

The companies that generate these cookies have their own privacy policies. Currently, OLACDE websites use the DoubleClick (Google) platform to manage these services. For more information, please visit:
http://www.google.es/policies/privacy/ads/#toc-doubleclick and http://www.google.es/policies/privacy/ads/

How can I disable cookies in my browser?
Different browsers can be configured to notify users when cookies are received and, if desired, prevent them from being installed on their device. Users can also check their browser to see which cookies are currently installed and their expiration dates, as well as delete them.

Knowledge and Training

We promote advanced technical training programs that facilitate the exchange of experiences, as well as the development of the human and institutional capacities needed to support the energy transformations in our region.

Our academic offering includes executive programs, postgraduate diplomas, master’s degrees, and innovative initiatives focused on topics such as energy transition, conventional energy, renewable energy, e-mobility, and regional integration.

OLACDE creates a regional network focused on energy knowledge that connects governments, young professionals, academics, and sector experts to drive collaborative solutions through technical cooperation and talent development to address future energy and climate challenges.

Technical cooperation and financing

We strengthen South-South and triangular cooperation ties as drivers to accelerate energy transitions in Latin America and the Caribbean. OLACDE brings together efforts among governments, multilateral organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector to mobilize financing, technical capacities, and innovative solutions tailored to our regional reality.

We promote strategic initiatives aimed at directing resources toward projects focused on decarbonization, conventional energy, renewable energy, and energy justice, with the objective of establishing a more efficient, inclusive, and sustainable regional cooperation architecture.

Regional Energy Community

We are building a regional energy community with a global outlook that seeks to position Latin America and the Caribbean as a key player on the international stage. OLACDE strengthens its representation in major multilateral forums related to energy, trade, and climate by fostering strategic alliances and promoting international cooperation.

Through events such as Energy Week, together with new spaces for international dialogue, we promote a collective voice that helps attract financial investment and create new opportunities for sustainable development across our region.

Energy Transition and Strategic Projects

We drive an energy transition based on principles of sustainability, energy security, and social inclusion. OLACDE supports countries in adopting new technologies related to energy efficiency, energy storage, green hydrogen, electromobility, and grid digitalization to accelerate the sector’s decarbonization process.

Our approach also includes promoting strategic projects that strengthen energy resilience at the regional level, contributing to emission reductions while consolidating a cleaner and more competitive energy infrastructure. Initiatives such as OEMLAC position our region as a leading reference in climate innovation and sustainable energy transition.

Energy information and data

We develop regional platforms dedicated to energy information, technical analysis, and strategic data systems that strengthen both public and private decision-making in the sector. OLACDE promotes the digital transformation of the sector through the use of artificial intelligence, georeferencing, and advanced tools for regional energy analysis.

The integration of systems such as SieLAC, together with new regional platforms, allows for the consolidation of reliable and up-to-date technical information, facilitating modern, interoperable, and evidence-based energy planning.

Regional Energy Integration

We promote cooperation in the regional energy sector, focused on collaboration, infrastructure development, and regulatory harmonization, with the objective of strengthening energy security in Latin America and the Caribbean. OLACDE coordinates projects related to electrical interconnection, gas integration, and regional energy planning, seeking to create efficient and sustainable partnerships.

Through cooperation with the governments of our 27 member countries, regional blocs, multilateral institutions, and both public and private stakeholders, we drive strategic initiatives that promote regulatory harmonization and new energy exchange mechanisms, in order to enhance national capacities and accelerate an integrated energy transition at the regional level.
